De Samenscholing is een autonoom samenwerkingsverband van verschillende individuen, groepen en organisaties. Wij werken samen in één pand, en hebben een gedeelde visie. Deze visie is wat onze samenwerking verbind, maar ook wat we uitdragen naar de wereld om ons heen.
Wij zijn een zelfgeorganiseerd collectief. Dit betekend dat we onafhankelijk zijn van de overheid en andere organisaties, maar ook dat we een anti-kapitalistische houding aannemen tegenover het systeem om ons heen. Wij zijn dus zeker politiek actief, dit vanuit het idee dat er gelijkheid voor allen zou moeten zijn.
Vrijheid is voor ons erg belangrijk. De vrijheid om te kunnen doen wat je wilt. Maar daarbij hoort ook een grote verantwoordelijkheid voor je eigen daden, een verantwoordelijkheid voor ons gebouw, de anderen die hier actief zijn en de gemeenschap om ons heen.
Wij willen ook respect uitdragen voor alles wat leeft. Daarom dragen we als pand een veganistische leefwijze uit, en door te werken aan duurzaamheid dragen we bij aan een wereld waarin ook alles wat na ons zal leven nog een plek kan vinden.
Vanuit dit streven naar vrijheid en onze politieke houding zijn wij ook solidair met andere projecten die dezelfde idealen nastreven, maar ook dichterbij met elkaar samen in ons pand en onze buurt.
Met elkaar vragen wij ook van elkaar een actieve houding. Wij zijn met nadruk een samenwerkingsorganisatie. Ons pand moet een veilige omgeving zijn voor onze activiteiten, maar ook voor mensen om zich persoonlijk te uiten. Ook als de samenwerking een keer wat minder gaat moet dit bespreekbaar zijn. In de Samenscholing is dan ook geen plek voor racisme, seksisme en homofobie of elk andere vorm van uitsluiting.
De Samenscholing komt voort uit een sociale strijd tegen de ontruiming van vrijplaats De Vloek dat was gevestigd in de haven van Scheveningen. Ander half jaar is er een strijd gevoerd tegen de sloop van de vrijplaats en tegen de veryupping van de haven. Uiteindelijk is De Vloek ontruimd maar door de strijd is de gemeente gedwongen ons de Samenscholing te geven.

De Samenscholing is an autonomous cooperative consisting of different individuals, groups, and organisations. We work together in one building and hold a shared vision. This vision is not only what connects our cooperation, but also what we would like to share with the world around us.
We are a self-organised collective. This not only means that we are independent from the government and other organisations, but also that we stand in opposition to the capitalist system around us. We are most certainly politically active, as we believe that there should be equality for all.
Freedom is very important to us. The freedom to do what you want. However, this freedom comes with great responsibility for your own actions, a responsibility for our building, the other people who are active here, and the society around us.
We want to show respect for all living things. That’s why our collective promotes a vegan lifestyle. By working on sustainability, we contribute to a world where all that will live after us can also have a place.
In our pursuit of freedom and our political positions, we are in solidarity with other projects that are working toward the same ideals; and closer to home, with each other and with our neighbourhood.
Together we ask each other to remain active and involved. We are a cooperative organisation after all. Our building must be a safe environment not only for our activities, but also for people to express themselves personally. Even if the cooperation is not going so well, we also need to be able to discuss this. In De Samenscholing, there is no room for racism, sexism, homophobia or any other form of discrimination.
De Samenscholing was born from a social struggle against the eviction of De Vloek social centre which was anchored in the harbour of Scheveningen. For one and a half years, there was a fight against the eviction of the social centre and the gentrification of the harbour. De Vloek was eventually evicted, but through our struggle, the city was forced to give us De Samenscholing.
